The Redding Air Attack Base was established in the late 1960s and is located at the CalFire Northern Operations Center on Airport Road in the Shasta-Trinity Unit.  The base is jointly operated by CalFire and the US Forest Service.  

 

The complement of CalFire aircraft located at Redding includes one OV-10 Bronco and two S-2T airtankers.  The base’s immediate response area spans from Red Bluff to Dunsmuir and from Hayfork to Mt. Lassen.
